Laptop doesn't play as well as it does when its plugged in.

I've been playing around on my new laptop which is an ASUS ROG GL551JM-DH71. And it performed great while the charger was plugged in, but as soon as i took it off the charger the frame rate plummeted and was just nowhere near how good it was once it was plugged in. Is their a reason for this and how can i fix it so i don't have to sit near an outlet every time i wanna game on my laptop. Thanks!

Power Managment, when Zou want more power, revert it from "ballanced" to "performance", and there You go. Or modify it manually so it has the values on "on battery" are the same as "on ac".

Just remember, when You "copy" the on ac to on battery mode, You'll shorten battery life pretty much. She's gonna drain down faster.

Forgive me for my ignorance since i'm still kind of new with all of this. What is Zou? And how would i change the battery settings on windows 8, if you know, because i'm new to windows 8 and its kind of confusing.

It's You, not Zou, I made a mistake. If You have something like classic shell, simply write there "power" and it will give You the option of "Power Options". If You don't have classic shell, simply go to metro, and type anywhere "power", and change power plan settings there.

Right click on your windows icon for your start menu, then click on control panel, then look for power or power options.
