Question Laptop fan is making a weird rattling noise

So my laptop fan is making a rattling noise, very noticeable in idle. Called ASUS customer support and they told me I should get it replace, however my warranty doesn't cover it. Not in a position to spend a lot of money, I also don't want any trouble with continuing using my laptop. Is there any other options I can do to fix my laptop fan? (I should 100% listen to ASUS but really really can't spend money but I really have to fix the fan). If I can't there's nothing I can do, what would happen if I don't fix this issue for the next few weeks?

Oh you are the perfect customer, come to my shop, "I need this, but can't pay you anything!"

This is what I would do (until you are able fix it for good), download one of the many free util to monitor the fan speed. When you notice like the thing seems to have fixed itself and now quiet, look at the speed and if 0 it means the fan has totally failed and at that point you know, you luck has run out.
