Hi I'm an Engineering student and I'm looking for a laptop for mostly CAD and 3d modeling.

1. What is your budget? Around 1000$

2. What is the size of the notebook that you are considering? Minimum of 15''

3. What screen resolution do you want? Minimum 1920x1080

4. Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop? It is meant to be used as a Desktop replacement, almost always connected to power source.

5. How much battery life do you need? 3h of battery life

6. Do you want to play games with your laptop? light gaming

7. What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? Will be used for medium-heavy CAD work and 3d modelling

8. How much storage (Hard Drive capacity) do you need? 500gb minimum preferentially SSD or ssd+HDD

10. How long do you want to keep your laptop? 5 years

11. What kind of Optical drive do you need? DVD ROM/Writer,Bluray ROM/Writer,Etc ? No

12. Please tell us about the brands that you prefer to buy from them and the brands that you don't like and explain the reasons.

13. What country do you live in? Portugal

I think the Dell Inspiron series would meet your needs. Otherwise, check out good, used laptops that have an Intel i3-i7 processor and SSD.
