Hello, I am using a Lenovo z510 (i3 4000 M, 2,4 GHz, 8 GB RAM and Geforce 740M) laptop, running on Windows 7 (64 bit). Recently, the laptop started hanging on the windows shutting down screen. I noticed that the loading circle doesn't hang up, it moves, but the OS just doesn't shut down. Which probably means there is a program which doesn't close properly, because the system is still "thinking".
I noticed that the problem started to occur after one time, my Skype couldn't detect my laptop camera. The camera problem got fixed after Skype automatically installed its latest version, but the shutting down problem started to happen. I don't know if it's related, but I think Skype is the issue.
The laptop has the latest drivers for all of its components installed, the GPU drivers as well. No viruses, damaged files or malwares were found when I did the relevant checks. Also did a sfc system error check (no system problems found) and a defragmentation of both my disks. Did a registry clean up as well. None of these fixes the issue. My last resort is a re-install of the OS, but I don't want to waste time and efforts on this.
Any idea what the issue might be? I would really appreciate it. Thank you.
