I have an old laptop with 2.5 inch HDD slot. Also I have a desktop with an SSD+HDD storage.
Now to make the laptop feel faster I want to replace the HDD of my laptop with the SSD of my desktop(on which windows is installed), but when I did replace & turned on the laptop it was not booting up and displayed that the boot device is not found. What to do?

Solution
get ssd drive into usb external enclosure and clone drive using ssd manufacturer software provided for free, then put ssd in place of HDD, and hdd in place of ssd, reboot, your on same config your old drive was on, and now you can delete partition on external hdd and use it for storage

note: this assumes your new ssd is equal or larger size then your hdd in your current pc. if ssd is smaller this method will not work
