I have just done a SSD upgrade on my other half's laptop, rebuilding with Win 10 home 64 bit, and using a Crucial M550 128gb. The build went fine,Win 10 install, updates, software etc. The next morning went to use the laptop, it powers up but no display.
I swapped back to the old hard drive and it started fine.
So, I then reinstalled the SSD and it again powers up and no display. I do notice that the hdd light flashes once and then nothing.
Again I changed drives and now I get exactly the same as the SSD, blank screen, one flash on the HDD light.
I have tried to start with/without the battery (on mains), discharging using the power button - nothing.
Now and again when I plug the power cable in there is a short squeak through the speaker.
Hoping someone can give me some ideas.
Spec. Lenovo G550, 4gb ram, 128gb Crucial M550.

Can you boot to bios? If so check to see if the hdd is there and recognised. Also see if you can connect your laptop to you TV just to rule out an issue with the display.
