So. I have an ASUS ROG GL552JX, and it had an empty m.2 SSD slot. (Yes there was no SSD installed before) I wanted to fill it. So, I bought an Samsung 960 EVO M.2 SSD (250Gt). I opened my laptop, and installed it.

I booted into Windows 10, and checked Disk Manager, and there was nothing. I checked Device Manager, and there was nothing. I restarted my laptop, and went into the BIOS. I checked SATA management, and there was only my hard drive and DVD drive. (The SATA mode was AHCI)

Please help

Solution
Your laptop can only use a SATA based m.2 drive.
https://www.asus.com/ROG-Republic-Of-Gamers/ROG-GL552JX/specifications/
"*1. M.2 (2280) SSD slot is SATA3 interface."

The Samsung 960 EVO is an NVMe based m.2 drive.

The physical connection is mostly the same, the drive is not the same.
This will not work.

Oh, sorry I forgot to mention that I tried that, but when I ran the driver installation program, it just said that I don't have a compatible drive installed
