Question Laptop Question

Hello,
I got my acer nitro 5 and I was just wondering if I should stand it up even if I'm not playing games. Like if I'm just surfing the web ir watching YouTube ir something not using the performance mode will I have to worry about it going crazy with the fans or getting super hot. I can slightly hear the fans rn as it starts up but I'm guessing it's because it's the first time turning it on so it's just getting woken up.

What does "stand it up" mean in this context?

If you are worried about temperatures, what temps have you observed?

What are the performance short-comings, if any?

Laptops generally run hotter than a comparable desktop and have mediocre cooling capability. You pretty much have to live with it.
