Laptop reaching 100c when gaming

Hi!

I have this satellite laptop...

intel core i5-480m 2.67 ghz
3 gb ram
ati mobility hd 5470 512 mb

i've been playing games in my laptop for 7/8 months, and i'm unaware of my temperature... recently i download this hwmonitor, and when i see it, the temp reaching 100c when i play fifa 12..
i play few games like la noire (low i got 13-20 fps), saints row: the third ( med i got 30 fps), fifa 12 (med), mafia 2 (med), sims 3 (high) and just cause 2 (med) all games are playable... but the thing is it didnt even shutting down... and i'm als afraid that my gpu or cpu will melt... this things makes me afraid to play my games...
I'm a newbie so please be kind to explain to me what should i do now :(

100c seems rather excessive. I'd try a few other programs just in case its a faulty reading.

If your gaming on a laptop is generally a good idea to get a cooling mat. Its also worth giving the fans a quick spray of compressed air to clear any dust.
 
it'll throttle before it causes damage (unless there are any underlying issues like the nvidia poor joint issue that we are not aware of yet).

thats what laptops do.

check for a bios update, dell had one for the M1330 that tweaked the fan profile to stop it hitting those high temps.

Ok i'll try compressed air.. How about mini vacuum cleaner for laptops?

When i'm watching movie, the temp is ranging from 52-65*c. Is it normal?
