Question Laptop recommendations for movies?

Hi,

First post, I'm looking for a SSD laptop that allows me to use an external DVD drive and hook it up to my TV. Need one with HDMI ports among others. I want something that would be great for movies but also to serve as a backup to my desktop. Prefer 14" to 15" screen and no Mac products. Leaning towards Levono or Dell. Appreciate any and all recommendations. Thank you!

I'd say $600 to $800. I want something that I can enjoy movies on, not one that's washed out and be a decent backup if I lose my desktop.

This is under $600 and it is a fantastic laptop. My son loves his and has never had a problem all of the time he uses it. That’s his college machine.
