1. What is your budget?
$1,000.00

2. What is the size of the notebook that you are considering? 14" or 15"

3. What screen resolution do you want? Unsure at this point.

4. Do you need a portable or desktop replacement laptop? No.

5. How much battery life do you need?
12 hours

6. Do you want to play games with your laptop? If so then please list the games that you want to with the settings that you want for these games. (Low,Medium or High)? No.

7. What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo/Video editing, Etc.)...Internet use and word processing. The laptop needs to be able to utilize 6ghz wifi. Also, I have data (pictures, video and documents) saved on flash drives/SD Cards that I would like to transfer over, so I would like a laptop with USB Type C and type A ports, as well as an SD Card slot.

8. How much storage (Hard Drive capacity) do you need? Not really sure. As I have been looking at Dell's website, I see that newer laptops have SSD's among other types of storage devices, as opposed to hard drives. I understand that some systems have both, but I don't need a hard drive in addition to the current storage on a Dell laptop. Also, I see that there are different drive types, including 1 TB, M.2, PCIe NVMe, SSD as well as just SSD's. I recall reading that the M.2, PCIe NVMe SSD's are superior. Is that correct?

9. If you are considering specific sites to buy from, please post their links.

10. How long do you want to keep your laptop? 5 to 10 years, if possible.

11. What kind of Optical drive do you need? DVD ROM/Writer,Bluray ROM/Writer,Etc ?

Not sure what type at this point. Initially, I thought I didn't need one, but then I remembered that I have cd's with data on them, so I would like to be able to access those.

12. Please tell us about the brands that you prefer to buy from them and the brands that you don't like and explain the reasons.

The two brands I have used before include Dell and HP, with Dell being the most recent that I used. (Inspiron 5559). It has been so long since I have purchased a laptop, I'm not sure which one to go with, but I'm strongly leaning towards Dell.

13. What country do you live in?
United States

14. Please tell us any additional information if needed.

Dell 5559 is the previous laptop that I had used, however, I have gotten to where I mostly use my cell phone (Samsung S24 Ultra) for a lot of what I do at this point, including printing to my wifi capable printers. My previous Dell laptop has an optical drive, however, initially, I wasn't sure if I would need that at this point until remembering I have CD's with data on them that I would like to be able to access. The laptop would need to be able to print to the Wifi printer, which is an HP OfficeJet Pro 8720.

Nothing too special in your requests. Optical drives are basically obsolete, so the suggestion there is to get an external USB Optical drive.

12 hour battery life is a bit unrealistic for a laptop, though there are a few higher end models that have larger batteries. May be outside your budget though.

Quick search at Dell says this is about your best option:

Or this one if you want to save a little. It does claim the longer battery life, but isn't as powerful as the first one:

Hey there! Just saw you were asking about laptops, and that 12-hour battery life on a powerful laptop can be a bit of a unicorn. Don't get me wrong, you can get good battery life, but here's the thing: I looked at what you might be interested in, and came up with two options that fit your needs:
