Laptop shuts down for no known reason, works fine in 2 seconds

My Dad's work laptop was plugged in and being used for playing Garry's Mod for a bit. I was playing GMod, making a map, when all of a sudden the PC shuts down. Two seconds later it turns back on without hesitation. Does anyone know what happened? Seems like overheating to me but if it had overheated it wouldn't turn on for a while, would it?

Thank god the map was just a cheap save. I got some progress saved.
