Laptop suddenly shuts down when I play games

Hello, im not very good with computers so I might not be adding enough detail but i bought this laptop about a year ago. Its samsung, i7, windows 7, 8GB RAM, 64bit, got a normal intel HD graphics 4000 and a radeon but i dont know how to find out the model it has.
I've been searching on google and some suggests it might have to do with it over heating?
Its fine when i play old games like back in 2001 but when its doing more heavy duty stuff like League OL it'll shut down

i bought this laptop initially for the purpose of CAD and that was running ok before, help?

Probably over heating. Try to use compressed air to remove dust, or take it to service to do that for you. Probably on bars that should cool down your system is created a fine layer of dust that is preventing air flow and cooling. Hope will this help you.

The only reason i see is that the pc shuts down to prevent heat damage to your gpu. So try cleaning the vents as much as u can without doing any damage and put a laptop cooler like this:

Thanks for replying! I've tried using a cooler before but how do I clean the vent or open it on the laptop?

I bought (15/12/2012) a Samsung 550p5c-s03pt, windows 8.1, i7, nvidia geforce gt 650m and 8 gb ram. Some time after i bought it, it sarted having some issues (it kept shutting down without warning). The question is, i thought it was overheating, so i used speadfan and those kind of programs but it showed nothing beyond normal. The strange thing is, when i play games it doesn't shutt down, but when i'm watching videos and doing ordinary stuff like checking my email it shutts down. Then i thought it was the battery, so I pluged it and removed the battery...still had the problem. Thought it could be a problem in the charger so i used the laptop without being plugged...still turned off.
When i asked for professional help in the place i bought it, they send it to samsung, they changed some parts bla bla bla... it came back with same problem. It went again to samsung and when it came back they said that they found no kind of problem and if i asked them to check the laptop again i would have to pay it (even knowing that it still had it's warantee). Can somebody help me? Sorry for the grammar, english is not my first language.

I have the same exact problem. It powers off Only when I switch to the AMD radeon card and when playing heavy duty games. Funny thing is this only started happening AFTER i cleaned the dust and reapplied the thermal taste. Fan noise is much quieter now but i have this annoying power-off problem now!

This never happened in the past and i always play heavy duty games. Anyone can help?

Actually I had the same problem, you can easily fix it by by down cloaking your processor's maximum speed, here's a little tutorial
Press the battery icon in the lower right corner of your screen an click more power options, then chose your plan and click change plan settings, click change advanced power setting and then scroll down to processor power management and click maximum processor state, change the value from 100% to 85 or 80 percent . This will avoid getting your processor hot enough to shut down your laptop.

This happens to my desktop PC when playing Facebook games. I am noticing something interesting everybody who is having this issue seems to have a Radeon graphic card, including me. I'm wondering if the card is actually what is causing the issue. I have run Dell's Diagnostic on my system, done full malware/virus scans, temp seems to be ok, I changed my motherboard to same exact board from factory, fan and heat sink is clean (recleaned to make sure) computer works perfect except for when playing facebook games.
