Question Laptop to display on TV without Imput Lag

I've tried just doing a straight HDMI to HDMI from my laptop to the TV but my imputs had a lot of lag. Is there any way to get rid of that to use my big TV for gaming?

That is generally a limitation of the TV circuitry.

Watching a movie, a 0.2 sec lag does not matter. You have nothing to compare it to.
Games, a 0.2 sec lag is readily apparent. And sucks.
