Laptop wireless connection gone

Hi everyone.

My wireless laptop internet connection hasn suddenly disappeared in the last 2 days. All of my housemates still have a connection.

I am using windows 7, version 6.1 according to the system help.

I have tried the internet trouble shooter and it doesnt tell me anything, just tells me its not working. It's not helpful at all. I tried all the basic stuff, resetting the router etc.

It's very frustrating. I have had no internet for 2 days now. I am writing this from work so it may be tricky to give you screen shots or copy and pastes unless its absolutely necessary in which case I can prob bring it in on a USB.

If anyone can help me resolve this, it will be greatly appreciated.

I have a laptop with a missing wireless card.
I bought a $9 (TP Link) wireless usb stick, works perfectly now no problems.

Mine has been working perfectly fine for ages and there is no reason to believe the network card is damaged or missing. I don't think I will need to buy anything new or get any hardware repairs, it's probabily a settings problem.
