A laptop with Intel Core I7, 8 GB of RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GT 635M, running Windows 10 pro, started freezing when performing simple tasks like loading Chrome or checking mail in Outlook. I checked the Task Manager and, during the freezes, the disk was at 100%.
The freeze would last around 10 minutes. After that it would work slower but ok for a short time then it would freeze again.
The first thing i did was disabling Superfetch, Windows Search and BITS in Services.
I didn't work.
Secondly, i disabled Windows Notifications.
It didn't work.
I managed to install ccleaner and I let it do it's job.
Didn't work.
After a little bit of time it started working better but it was still lagging on simple tasks. I shut it down over night and in the morning when i powered it on the only thing i got was a black screen with no cursor. I can hear the fans working but Windows won't boot up.
