I was wondering what the largest size Hard drive anyone has successfully used with this mobo and what if any problems arose?
I was told by ASUS that no larger than 137GB.
I thought I could use SATA drives, but no can do unless using 2 or more as RAID. Can't use a single SATA or combine with an EIDE. Therefore I am having to go with EIDE as a second drive. A computer friend said I go use 160 to 200GB safely, but he wasn't sure about a 250 or 320GB.
Is there a size limitation?
Thanks

I find everything you're saying a little hard to believe. First of all, your ATA133 controller supports any size drive you can currently buy, the old 128GB limit was from ATA100 days (prior to the 48-bit addressing BIOS patch). So you're good to go.

Second, nearly all motherboards support operating the onboard SATA controller in non-RAID mode. Even if you have a horribly-designed BIOS that doesn't support non-RAID mode, you can still set ONE drive in JBOD mode (Just a Bunch Of Disk), which links any number of drives (even one drive) end to end.
