I thought laser minefields destroy fighter wings? Any exceptions? What if a
laser field detonates?

A Wing that hits a Laser Minefield loses between 0 and
(Totalfighters-1) of each fighter type.

A detonating Laser Minefield utterly destroys all wings located within
it.

All wings that are not docked to a ship are destroyed by a detonating laser
minefield.

What about wings in orbit of a base? Wings orbitting a planet?

I also detonated a laser minefield that surrounded a planet that had a
privateer base and a large wing of privateer fighters. Nothing happened to
the fighter wing.

Are you certain it is the same wing? Is it docked?

Do you have the ID number of the wing before and after? Did you scan the
wing, or encounter a wing in a combat VCR in which case it could be a Home
Guard wing (a wing based on the planet surface)

Got confirmed scan of the wing, detonated the minefield and arrived on the
planet with a ship. A VCR resulted in the loss of my capital ship to the
same wing ID.

If it was the same ID, then all I can think of are:

a) It was docked with a ship. Was there a _cloaked_ carrier there? What
races are in the game, how big was the wing, and what ships in the game can
dock a wing that size? (It may not have been a ship on his native ship list
but one he traded for).

b) It moved. IE you scanned it, saw it when it was over the planet but it
went elsewhere by the end of the previous turn. Then the next turn it came
back after the MF detonated but in time to fight you.

"A" is probably the more likely.

If there was a VCR a cloaced ship would have been involved weather you
scanned if or not.

Greetings
Sebastian

I remember cloaked ships not to be involved in combat if attack off
when its docked figthers had combat.
