mmmm another week goes by another price drop.
athie 1200C was $389 now $369 + 128mb ram = $369 + $75 = $444
pee4 1.3 was $650ish now (including 128mb rdram) = $625
pee4 1.7 + 128mb ram = $1090.

interestingly... the price for just rdram alone is HENIOUSLY HIDEOUSLY NASTY.
pc133
64mb = $40
128mb = $70
256mb = $109 (weekly special)
rdram 64mb = $390!
rdram 128mb = $580!

sorry p4... but myself and alot of others just dont have that kinda moolah

this is what I found, all retail boxes from auth dealers at pricewatch.com you should check it out some day.

<A HREF="http://www.pricewatch.com/1/3/2760-1.htm" target="_new">p4 1.3 w/128Mb RDRAM PC800 = $243</A>
<A HREF="http://www.pricewatch.com/1/3/3008-1.htm" target="_new">p4 1.7 w/128Mb RDRAM PC800 = $420</A>

RDRAM 256Mb 800 = $165
RDRAM 128Mb 800 = $74
RDRAM 64Mb 800 = $36

How about dual PC2400 DDR?
PC2400 DDR "CAS2" 256MB: $91
PC2400 DDR "CAS2" 128MB: $52
Those are much better memory choices considering future bus speed scaling, and they are already cheaper than 800MHz RDRAM with much lower latency.

a P4 1.7 256 ram cost 950$ on street if you do some place maybe less.

Wow...I got my Athlon 1200C axia for $160.00 three weeks ago at the last computer show. I think you could do better
by shopping around.

I thought I was wrong once, but I was mistaken.

Divide his $'s by about .49 -.51 (I haven't had to deal with an Aussie for a while) and you'll get a closer US price. So it's bad, but not insane.

Blah, Blah Blahh, Blahh, blahh blah blahh, blah blah.

um, yeah whatever.
Yup. 'specially since Intel will soon abandon RDRAM for DDR.
