Im looking for LCD monitor Comparison chart. The way i see it every monitor has its pro's and con's but they all seem to get there reviews one or a couple at a time so you can only compair a couple.

I'd like to look at as many, say 17", LCD's with ratings for each catagory. 5* / % / Bar graph...whatever

Just as long as i can compair:
View angle
Colour Quality
Contrast
refresh rate/burn
anything else would be good too

I realise that some of this can be considered subjective, But i would MUCH rather narrow down a few(3-5) partialy subjectively rated monitors to what suits me best, and then research those monitors 2nd.

Its too tedious to research every monitor.

If anyone has a link to somewhere i could find a great chart of this sort. Please let me know.

BTW, even tho i like to game from time to time. this would have no effect for me.

I am looking for a secondary monitor. one that will be often in my periferal vision. so i need something stable that will not bother my eyes.

Also, as a graphic designer, Colour/Contrast is important too. even thought i'll be using a 19 -20" CRT to design on most likely, I may use it from time to time as well.

My biggest pet peave however is Viewing Angle. it must have a GREAT Viewing Angle.

So if you have any suggestion im open for those also.

thanks agian

There's no such thing you know. And I personally hope no one does one for 17" LCDs anyway. 19+ at the smallest would be useful. All the newer 17" LCD screens by the major manufactures are excellent for gaming, graphics etc. Just pick one you like. It's the larger sizes now that are still not perfect. I'm personally looking at various 23" sizes and even at that size there are a few good ones out. The LCD choices are better by far than a year or two ago. But seriously get a second job on the weekend or something to buy a bigger screen. At only 17" you'll be looking to but again in a year or two.

Just pick a few monitors you initially like and then start finding reviews on each of them until you get some consistently good opinions. Then buy. Don't be like me that tends to look and look and look and take forever to buy because I'm looking for the best...you'll be upgrading in the future either way.

i understand what you saying, but the purpose for this monitor will be for a secondary monitor. I'll prolly pick up a 22" crt soon.

As for what you saying about 17"ers...

I was just at FutureShop looking at there displays and just about everyone of them was differant. for the most part they were only using the Fish screensaver for me to compare, but even with that I could easily see that some had brighter colours and some had better viewing angles... they were pretty much all 17".

from what i saw there, the best one seemed to be one from NEC - LCD1765 17" i believe

I too would have thought that by now All the manuactures would have very good 17" but after looking at the ones there... they are still all over the place

I have concidered a 19" as i had figured the quality has been moving upword, but i guess since seeing the 17"'s i have my doubts and am really dissapointed.

This doesn't have everything that you want (and it isn't an english language site), but I find it helpful.
