There are some programs that will monitor the rails. It depends on if
the motherboard has the sensors. Right now I have small program called
MBPROBE running in my system tray which gives me fan speeds, CPU & case
temperature, and voltages. It works very well with my Abit NF7-S. There
are other programs that offer a lot more, but for me this is enough. It
also doesn't use a lot of memory running in the background. You need to
find out if your motherboard has that capability. If it does there will
most likely be a system health page in the bios which lists everything
such as temps, voltages and fan speeds. If there isn't I would still
find out for sure.

yup got the health stuff in my bios says everything is fine but will get a
program and see whats up thanks private ur a god among us mortal men!!

Your welcome,
Give MBProbe a shot, if it works with your motherboard it is a great
program. Easy to use and to setup. It also runs in the background using
a very small amount of system memory. I've been using it a long time
and have not had a single problem with it conflicting with anything
else in my system. It shows all my fan speeds, temperatures and
voltages.

I tried to use this utility but had no luck. I dl'd the app and also the
MBProbeNT zip file and followed the instructions for running NTinst.exe. I
keep getting the error message "Unable to open the giveio.sys driver". I
even tried re-copying giveio.sys to the drivers directory and the system32
directory in Windows with no luck. Any ideas?

That to me would mean the file is in the wrong location.

I just checked on my system, and the file is here;

C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers

Also make sure you put everything in the MBProbeNT.zip file in the
drivers folder and run NTINST from in there.

Make sure you have the newest version of everything also. If you give
me your Email I will send you the version I am using which is 1.3.0.0.

I'm not saying you having tried everything here, just more like just
double checking everything with you.

Also make sure you are logged in with administrators access.

I do remember having the problem you described once before, but I
don't remember how I fixed it.

Yeah, the first time I ran NTinst it was in the drivers dir along with
giveio.sys, but after I ran it I couldn't find giveio.sys in there. It had
indicated that it had run successfully in the command prompt window, but it
wouldn't work. I tried putting giveio.sys in the driver dir but that didn't
work and when I tried to run NTinst again it failed. I'm wondering if I
delete the new registry entries that were created and try again if I might
have some luck.

I thought I had, but I may be mistaken. There's only the two files in that
archive, NTinst.exe and giveio.sys.

Understood.

I think that's the only way I'm ever "logged in", there are no other "users"
on this machine.

Maybe you did what I'm thinking of trying, delete the new registry entries
and start over. Either that or go back to a previous Restore point.

Hello

I was just wondering if anyone could help me or has had any further
ideas on anthony's problem. I am experiencing the same issues on a
very similar setup. Everytime I try to run a game that requires a
little bit more from the graphics card such as half life 2 or farcry,
the screen immediatly locks up and a loud noise is heard.

I am currently running:
Gigabyte K8 Triton M/B
2 x 512 DDR400 RAM
3200+ AMD Athlon 64
Leadtek PX6600 GT TDH PCI-E Graphics card

This is all conected to a 400W PSU

One thing I have noticed, is that the card whilst running, does appear
to be very hot, but not on the main chip but around it, as the core
and ambient temperatures are not high.
