These numbers - if true - are a huge letdown. We were expecting something that beats the 4080. If these are true then all the 9070 cards better be sub-$600, sub-$500.

On the other hand, this generation is the greatest opportunity for AMD in the past 10 years. They are bringing an all-new architecture while NVidia has done nothing to improve their hardware this time around, they just threw in a few 4-bit multipliers for DLSS4. It could be an AMD blowout - stay tuned!

I'm not sure why these would need to beat a 4080, or what is "midrange" about a $800+ card.

In 2017 the RX 570 was released, a decidedly midrange GPU, with a price of $169. The 970 was considered a performance-segment card at $329. There was only about 3-4% performance difference between these cards.

The 9070 / 9070 XT should, if it's a decent upgrade, match up to the X800 product of the prior gen which would be the 7800 XT. Spec wise it should be slightly faster than that, but not a lot.

If they are shooting for 4080 / 5070 then they're not midrange, and the midrange will continue to be starved to death.

That in turn means the potential market for new PC games will shrink further, and the buyers of these expensive cards will get more crappy console ports and fewer PC platform specific titles.

The Rtx 5070 will be faster than a 4070 super
The 5060 ti will be same as 4070 a little slower.
The 5060 will be the new 4060ti
And the 5050 will be a little slower than the 4060.
Amd will loose so much ground if they launch that card a such high price... the 6070xt need to have a price tag of 500usd or lower.
Old games with amd graphics it's a no no...
Newer games with raytracin on amd graphics is a big no no. It's why Nvidia has the almost 80% market share. Amd products are poor, they work but are not so great.

AMD is doing absolutely nothing with this new architecture if this leak is remotely close to being accurate. It's basically pointless if their new products can't even compete with their old.

Not even AMD can be that AMDumb to launch a card that would basically be barely 7900GRE/4070 Super beater for $650. If the 9070XT is that slow, only a $450 price tag would see it move off shelves and would mean 9070 is DOA as slower than 7800XT.

Intel's move, B770/780 need to land.

Still light stock of B580 even though they seem to come instock frequently, but I suspect the scalpers are still buying, need enough supply to destroy that market. I picked up a used A750 for $110, pairing with an old 9900kf (Replacing an ancient Radeon HD 7970). May Intel's marketshare increase and may they be rewarded for serving the low end which has had zero effort put in to it for the last 10 years.
