Several online shops advertise Full version copies of WinXP Home (OEM copies I think) for around $90 with the purchase of any hardware. Is this a legal deal for your average home user? One of the consulting firms we keep contact with (MS certified partner, or whatever they're calling it now) was questioning the legality of this kind of deal, and I wanted to make sure it won't drop me in hot water. Full version XP and another 256MB of RDRAM for under $200 would be sweeeeet...

I believe that's a Legal deal... Basicly the same price that woud be added to a complete system with OEM OS... Pretty cheap that way!
It's usually paired with the hardware purchase of HardDrive, Mobo, ... Some stretch it to ANY hardware pruchase...
Go for it - I've been buyin em that way for years...

But be forwarned! - XP is one step before M$ Pay-to-BOOT and subscription software!!! Activation(WPA) is just a spin on a regulated, call home, non-operational OS with builtin scheduled obsolence...

Boycot it - get Win2k and and be stable for the long run...
