Question Lenovo ac/dc adapter for ThinkPad t430u making ticking sound and not charging the laptop

It was all working fine and completely perfect for 12 whole years until today when it started not charging and started making the ticking sound while getting hot. I have checked other outkets and same problem is it the problem with my laptop or the adapter/converter

Are you sure the noise is coming from the adapter and not the cooling fan in said laptop?

Yes, because when I turn the laptop off and unplug the adapter from the laptop it continues the buzzing/ticking noise
