Lenovo Flex 5: Ryzen 4700 U + 8Gb or 4500 U + 16Gb?

Hi!

Currently shopping for a new laptop. This is gonna be for school work exclusively, so basically it's gonna be office, Python, LaTeX, light graphing and note taking mostly. I set my sights on the Lenovo Flex 5, but I really have no idea which one would be the best for what I'm gonna do, between the Ryzen 4700U/8Gb RAM and 4500U/16Gb (Keep in mind that both have soldered RAM). Other than that I believe the specs are the same for both. Any thoughts?

You can always add RAM to a laptop. You're stuck with whatever CPU comes with the unit you buy though.

Should have mentioned it, but in that case it's soldered RAM, so sadly I cannot add any. Edited the OP.

The specs are the same but one has 6 cores and the other 8 cores.

the 8 cores one is 18% faster in multi thread performance.

If that 18% is not that important for you get the More RAM.
