Hello, I suppose this belongs to the motherboard part of the forum.
a few months ago I had issues with my Ideapad 3 wherein the plastic on the upper right side got very loose despite the screw still being in there, which led to the other side getting loose as well, which led to the charging port getting corrupted. I took it to the repairman and he fixed it, but I assume some wires that run along the right hand side of the device got pinched together, which led to it constantly going into stand by whenever I would do any movement with the device to provoke it. It must have happened at least 10-15 times per day for at least a month.
One night, after turning it off, I put it on the table and threw a small pencil that landed on the keyboard, which made it turn on. I held the power key to turn it off, and the next day it wouldn't boot. It turns on, three mini-lights turn on - caps lock, num lock and esc key, and after 3 seconds they turn off, leaving only a black screen.
I am assuming I must have fried the firmware somehow with the constant stand by mode.
Any of you know if that is the case, or it is something else, and whether this is fixable by me, or even the repair shop without replacing something that costs half the laptops price and if there's a way to detect whether something mechanical broke down.
