Hey guys, all of a sudden, this Ideapad Flex 4-1570 laptop stopped right-clicking. I uninstalling the Synaptic driver then downloading the Synaptics (PS/2) driver from here:

downloading the 3rd item on that list then restarting and the DM does not show that driver. When I go into the Downloads folder and open that downloaded file, I am not noticing an option to 'install' it so what can I do here please?

Thanks, did as recommended, it installed but still does not work.

It's a trackpad so I am thinking why would the left click work as normal but not the right? This is why I am thinking it should be a software issue?

Ok, so let's clarify the issue a bit more. Are you tapping and holding in order to get right click functionality or are you actually using the right-click button on the trackpad itself (sorry, I haven't looked to see if its actually got one I just looked)? I know it's not a physical button and is part of the trackpad itself but it should still function like a button.

If that doesn't function, there are still sensors under it that cause it to trigger a right-click. You might try reseating the trackpad cable if you're comfortable. Beyond that, start using a USB mouse like recommended.

Thanks. Yeah pressing on the right side of the trackpad as norm is not doing anything, also the hold and drag function does not work too. I will be getting another laptop instead of having to do any hardware work on this one, thanks guys.

No, not only for that reason, this is an older laptop, just wish to get a newer one so no need for me to spend any money to fix this one as I cannot do the hardware work mentioned myself.
