Hello community.
I bought this laptop 5-6 months ago, since day 1 I had problems with CPU heating up to 85-90 even on less demanding games.
An example would be GTA San Andreas. If I run it with Frame Limiter off, it reaches 85+ Celsius. Note that no mods are used, the game shouldn't run at such high temps. If I run it with Frame Limiter on, I only get 30 fps and heat goes up to lets say maximum 70-ish.

My specs are:

ON TOPIC:

I have used Intel XTU to undervolt my CPU, while stress testing my temps never reach 80 degrees, however while gaming it reaches the 85-90 range which it did from day 1.

It did solve throttling in GTA V, before undervolting after 3-5 minutes of gameplay it would turn sluggish, freezing and just being unplayable.

Is this how it's supposed to behave? Wasn't it supposed to stay under 80 degrees while gaming aswell? How do I stop my CPU from going 85+? GPU reaches maximum of 70 while running demanding games.

Solution
like Suiluj said, get a laptop cooling pad (the big ones, not those small USB ones). You shouldn't game without one. Also, change the thermal paste to something better as the stock one underperforms a lot. You can tell if you need a paste change if your idle temps are near 50c or higher. Usually, idle temps hover around 40c or less

As for undervolting better, you might wanna follow this guide:

You could get a cooling pad, replacing thermal paste could also help a little. My friend also has a laptop and he has pretty high temps, using Vsync or something like Rivatuner helps by limiting the framerate. Also windows power plan should almost always be set to balanced. (or atleast not have High Performance when idle, if it gives a framerate boost.)
