Question Lenovo MB 312A Upgrade CPU Question

Greetings everyone. I have a Lenovo system with an i5-8600, BaseBoard Product, 312A, and BaseBoard Version SDK0J40697 WIN 3305244957825.

Internet search said it can handle an 8th or 9th gen CPU. Can I go out and get an i7-9700k (or similar i9) and simply drop it and go?
If not, what other things will I need to do to upgrade it?

If you're dealing with a prebuilt from Lenovo, what is the model of the prebuilt? If it's a ThinkCenter M720, then any processor listed on this product spec sheet;

but you should make sure you're on the latest BIOS version prior to dropping any processor onto the socket.
