Lenovo monitor issue

I have a Lenovo ThinkVision 21.5" LED-Backlit LCD Monitor - 60AFHAR1US - Raven Black

I've had it for maybe 2 or 3 years and now I have a weird issue. I have it on and its working and it will work all day but when i go to sleep, either if I leave it on or turn it off when i get up in the morning and try to turn it on the blue light showing that it is on or off will flash in and out and the screen will stay black. I figured out I had to sort of pinch the power wire near the monitor and it comes on and stays on all day. Also you can start to see squiggly lines on white pages when it is on.

Is there anything I can do to save / fix it, or is it best to go buy a new monitor?

it sounds like a possible cold solder joint were the power connector connects to the monitor power board. does the monitor have a power adapter connected to it or just a straight power cable?

the cable that connects from the monitor to the outlet is a regular power cable. when i squeeze on the cable right near where it connects to the monitor is when it turns on but its usually unresponsive and its getting harder to get it on everyday. i was thinking it was a wire that was loose or something.

switch power cables with the desktop unless you have another power cable not being used to see if the monitor still has that problem.

The cable that seems to have the issue is connected to the monitor i dont think deattaching it is an option. its the cord that goes directly from monitor to outlet.

lcd monitors don't use hardwired power cables just detachable ones.
