It`s a few months too late down the road, but the question to ask Is why now Lenovo.

Many people pointed out how fool hardy it was for Microsoft, not to include some form of setting for windows 8 to the old classic style of UI, and start button system.

Lenovo obviously saw it was effecting sales of there hardware due to the Os installed, resulting in a lower selling of the units.





 
Not quite the same, but if you want to try something that makes it easier and faster to launch apps on Windows 8, download Gestures2Launch from a company called Linpus. Try write on the screen to launch an app.
