Hi! I bought a Lenovo v50t gen 2 11qe a few months ago, and recently added some noctua fans and a 380w psu.

Next, i wanted to put a graphics card in it-particularly the rtx 3050 6gb that recently came out-since it comes in lp and is only 75 watts.

However a few other forums on here stated that there was a bios lock only allowing specific gpu's, such as the rx 550. Is this true? And if so, is there any way to work around it? I already ordered the card and it would be a huge bummer if i can't use the pc to its full potential. Especially since the drivers are years outdated. Thanks so much for any help! Completely new to this sort of thing

I honestly don't know about this specific build, but I know personally that Dell was famous for this with some of their (otherwise) really nice XPS systems over the years. It may be beneficial to ask on a manufacturer specific forum or support group if such exists.

I've already asked virtually everywhere, i just get mixed awnsers and anyone else who's asked never came back with an update, hopefully somebody has some idea

Well, since you have ordered the new card I suppose at this point there is only the "find out" scale for you....
If I was checking the right spec page this is a 10/11th gen Intel? If it works it should give some pretty decent 1080 performance according to the exact processor. Does it already have a matched set of DDR4 or one stick?

I suppose so, and yeah its dual channel 64gb ddr4, would be a gaming beast if this card works
