I am getting no sound on this monitor. The volume says its up, I play music and I can see volume status bar move to the beat. I have only 2 ports. One for monitor to computer, and another for the power jack. Please help

The one jack that you have for the monitor to the computer is it HDMI ?
If it is then you want to go into the sound properties and make sure that the speakers are enabled for the monitor.

No it is not an hdmi jack. Just a regular monitor jack. I have gone into sound properties and it does show that everything is ok. I just do not have sound coming out. The status bar for sound does move with the beat of music or when someone is talking from video.

If you have the regular monitor jack and it's tha blue vga connetor then you can't get sound through a vga cable. Do you see and headphons jack or any kind of audio jsck on the front or rear of the monitor ? The only cable that carries sound along with the video is HDMI. How old is the monitor ?

It is actually new. Just bought it maybe like 3-4 weeks ago. I'll check it again to see if it is VGA/dvi/hdmi. Thanks
