After a year into building my PC and working adequately, my monitor no longer detects any signal when connected to the GPU. When I press the power button the computer momentarily appears to boot up normally and for a split second I get the screen that tells you if you want to get into the BIOS screen, then after that the monitor loses signal.

If I plug the monitor into the mobo itself, the PC boots up normally using intergrated graphics. Also I tried doing the same thing whilst the GPU is also plugged into the PCI and all I get is a black screen.

Other than this monitor issue, everything else appears to be functioning normally. The CPU and the GPU is at normal temperature, and the fans also work for the GPU as well.

when you said "If I plug the monitor into the mobo itself, the PC boots up normally using integrated graphics" do you mean to day when connected to your pc integrated graphics the monitor works properly ? using the same type of cable you tried to connect to the PCI GPU ? or using different kind ?

try a different plug type in PCI card (i.e. if using HDMI doesn't work try DVI, it is possible the port only is bad. ) if still nothing... then yes probably dead video card, when did you buy this card ? A year ago, hum it might still be under manufacturer warranty... you could try to contact and get a rma done to it, if it fails your other cable test
