Hey everyone, I currently have an i5 2500k @ 4.6 Ghz w/ my new Corsair H80 cooling system. I mostly game, watch HD movies, do some video editing and music editing. I am wondering if it is worth it to possibly upgrade to an Ivy Bridge CPU? I was thinking going from 2500k-->3770k? I don't know if it's really worth it is it? I need some feedback! Thanks!

Not for gaming. However, the i7-3770k has hyper-threading. For video editing work, the 2 threads per core may be helpful. H/T will give you almost the equivalent of an 8 core processor. In fact, it will show up in Windows as an 8 core.

Not for gaming now or the near future, anyway. Gaming code is pretty much limited to 3 or 4 cores today... max. If you have money burning a hole in your pocket, yes, a SSD would be a good improvement for boot up time and any apps you decide to store on it. But there are a few things to be aware of to get the most performance out of one.

Thats definitely a better choice but it wont help gaming much beyond load times.

Since your systems specs appear to be old, can't recommend an updated gpu at this time.

For video editing you might want to add a scratch hdd so that you're not reading and writing to the same drive and slowing you way down.

I am selling my video card to a friend in a week or so and I want to upgrade that regardless and be able to play any new game really for the rest of the year or so without any type of hiccups.

I was actually going to upgrade my RAM to 16GB and get that ASUS DC II TOP GTX 670, haha too much I mean it is a lot but probably worth it in the long run, and then in the not too distant future pick up another one of those video cards.
