I like this case so much that I decided to give it it's own thread.

This has not been released yet But my research tells me it will be avaiale mid to late December.

Here is a very good review of this case:

Oh, and to d-ray, I'd imagine this case will be pretty quiet, especially depending on where it is sitting compared to you. I believe all its fans are 120mm (and good quality most likely) so at low to medium speeds it will probably be fairly silent. And it looks well built and solid too, but I guess Mark will know for sure in a couple weeks.

Thanks for the info Mark - I have my eye on this case. The only thing that concerns me is all those fans, Id be interested to know if its reasonably quiet, and if you can control the speed of the fans at all (ideally it would be good to run them all but at 1000RPM or even less perhaps? Looking forward to hearing your thoughts once you've put it together.

I am looking at this case myself. And that side panel you posted has me tempted as well. 😀 Do you know if it is wide enough to house a Thermalright Ultra 120 HSF? My other concern is about the intake airflow since the front bezel basically blocks the two cooling fans.

It does block the two intake fans but that really helps with the noise, since it adds some buffering, and it draws air in from the sides anyway. I see the front bezel as a plus rather than a problem.

Here are my test results with pictures.

Antec 900
I had my fans switched on high and running my fans using the SENTRY 2 Performance Touch Screen 5.25" Fan Controller on medium.
CPU fan set to high. It was very loud.

Lian Li PC-B25F
BIOS regulating fan speeds set on STANDARD. It was a lot quieter.
However, you can see that the temps are 10c warmer.

I really like the case.
I am going to move the HDD to the very top of the cage to alow for more air flow.

Nice pics Mark. What video cards are you running BTW? I'm still undecided about this case, and your temps aren't making me very comfortable to be honest. I plan on overclocking my next rig and seeing your core and GPU temps go up by so much is disheartening.

I guess it will be basically do I want to pay top dollar for a light weight good looking case even though its' not suited for good airflow and cooling. ::sigh:: I don't want to have to resort to cases like the Antec 900 and such - even though they're supurb for cooling they just look too juvenille.

Darksword,

Both my rigs were/are overclocked (CPU 2.66 -> 3.80 and GPUs).

Lian Li PC-B25F w/ side window W-LM2AB-1, ASUS P6T DELUXE, SLI x2 EVGA GTX280, KINGWIN Mach 1 ABT-1000MA1S Modular,CORE I7 920 OCed (2.66 -> 3.8 GHz),Corsair TR3X6G1600C8D,WD Caviar Black 640GB, CoolerMaster V8, OCZ OCZTXTCC2 XTC Cooler Rev 2, Windows 7 Home Premium

I know what you mean about juvenille looking....

Thanks for the info Mark. I'll probably end up getting it anyway. I had a Lian Li way back in the day and loved the hell out of it. Aluminum is the only way to go. :)

Also, it's hard to judge the color of the case by the pics. I've seen some reviews where it looks to have a blueish tint to it. In your pics it looks more greyish, although it's lised as a "black" case. Is it closer to black or a medium grey in real life? And, how audible are the intake and outtake fans?

Sorry for the repeated questions. :)

Darksword,

It is dark black.

The only fan that I really hear are the two on the top.

My Antec was cool but it sounded like a jet....
My wife would say what is that noise? I can now here the TV life is good now......

I am going to work on the video card mounting system to see what the issue is.

Go for it it really is a different level of case. Just what I needed.

I believe that the unit does have a fan speed control. It seems that the temp readings were done with the fans on high in the Antec but at low or medium on the Lian-Li which will obviously provide skewed results. Have you turned the fans all the way up and looked at noise at temp levels?

As I stated, I am using the BIOS to monitor fan speeds. This way it is quieter but it runs warmmer.
Really nice shinny side window . Nothing blocking it like the Antec 900 was.

I understand I was just curious if in a more apples to apples comparison the cooling was similar with fans on high.

Today:

Idle:
CPU: 35 34 38 34
GPU1: 40
GPU2: 37

Playing Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 for 30 min:
CPU: 42 40 44 40
GPU1: 52
GPU2: 60

I have the BOIS monitoring and controlling 3 fans except for the top two fans. BIOS set to Standard.

ive been looking to upgrade my case, as when i got my current case the standard fans were mainly just 1 front and 1 back, so as you can probably guess with new hardware everything is suffocating.

Ive been looking around for absolutely ages for a new case. i needed a mid tower, and i wanted 2 top and 2 front fans. i wanted a removable hard drive cage as i have 1 hard drive and can then fit longer cards into the case and with extra airflow from the front. I also wanted decent cable management and fairly silent but that could also be changed with new fans.

this case fits the bill. it doesnt look like some wierd (in my opinion) childish antec case, which i HATE the look of.

ive read this thread and its completely!!!! made my mind up, even though i was pretty sure i was going to get it anyway. and now theyve released the side window'd version as standard AND WITH BLACK INTERIOR!!!

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-184-LL&groupid=701&catid=7&subcat=187

Amazing. i am tempted to change the stock fans, as on their website they are 20db or there about with 30-40 cfm airflow, where i can buy fans 20< db and 60 cfm airflow.

I am a big airflow to noise ratio kinda guy. this case is perfect, 2x intakes pulling air in from the side vents which is more than needed, and dust filters 😵. 2 140 top fans, which you can by silent 140 with same airflow as 120 fans. and ofc this case has the lian li stamp of quality =D. you can even buy a side panel with a window and spaces for another 2 140mm fans if really needed, fantastic. sorry for long post just wanted to post =D

Alright you necroed this thread just so you know, but it seems to have been necroed several times.

I recommend using this:
http://www.performance-pcs.com/catalog/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=4475

Slap it in the 5.25" bay and your golden.

This is the first time I read this case, wow are some people on here blind. The PC-B25 is a beautiful case and can be setup to perform about as well as an Antec 900.

Nothin' wrong with dragging a thread up from the dead, especially when it's on topic (I'm looking at building with this case)

Thanks.

Edit: Looked at your gadget. Wouldn't work for me. I'm going to need at least two, and maybe all three of the 5.25" bays, and will have two internal drives (a magnetic and an SSD.) But it's a good item to know about.
