ok so basically im beta testing Age of Conan now, and my current system runs like complete crap

within the next few days im gonna order the system in the link but i had a few questions

1. do you guys see any room for improvement in my price/performance range? my final total is $1250

2. Does it look like it will bottleneck anywhere?

3. Do you think it will run Age of Conan Flawlessly?

4. Do you think it will last me 2-3 years, since i only play MMO's?

oh also, im planning on putting this system together myself, but seeing as ive actually never put one together before, do you guys have any helpful links to guides or anything like that?

im somewhat confident that i can put the hardware together, but im a bit iffy on installing the OS seeing as ive never done it before, and never really mess w/ any of the settings.

One problem what graphics card are you going to get? thats a big problem
apart from that it's pretty good but for the cooler for the cpu should be this

I also like the idea of the 7200.11 so i went with that.

I also dropped those expensive 120mm fans and picked up 2 of those other ones that were recomended.

I dont wanna go w/ a more complicated CPU cooler, because i really dont plan on overclocking much as im prolly gonna break something. IF i do, it will be maybe to 3gig

I like the case i picked only because i cant stand those too big/overcomplicated cases... i value simplicity and the one i picked seems to have good cable manigment and cooling

I'll throw in the Noctua NH-U12P Heatsink (with fan) for consideration. The fan it comes with is IMO the best for using with a heatsink because of its high static pressure. If I bought a different heatsink that had no fan included, I'd still buy the 120mm Noctua fan this heatsink comes with

The case Boonality linked is a great case for the $, excellent cooling and you can hide your cables behind the motherboard. At least check out some reviews or google image it because thats a very good way to save yourself some $. If you want to fill out all the fan slots you can look at 120mm fans like the Yake Loons with high CFM (Static pressure > CFM mostly just when it comes to heatsinks). Oh and the new Antec 300 may also be of interest for its simplistic nature and cooling, but I havent read any reviews or seen one myself yet. But the price is right on it as well.

You don't need that big of a power supply since you won't be going SLI/Crossfire. You'd be fine with a 500w-ish Antec, Corsair, PC Power & Cooling.

Good luck and enjoy!! And make sure you OC that Q6600 to at least 3.0Ghz, it's ridiculously easy, just one change in BIOS. Do a quick google for more info if you don't already know

Could anyone guess what a system like this would get in a 3d mark test?

What worries me is that the motherboard isnt 16x 2.0 pci-e and i cant SLI w/ it. Because of the lack of upgrade potential, i need it to be somewhat future proof.

I know i'd be adding more to the list... but you could probably get better lifespan out of a newer generation of processor... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115043... Idk if you plan on overclocking... but it stays cooler... and has a slightly improved architecture... if you do plan on overclocking... you can improved your OC% a lot... I don't know if this will work with your chosen MB though.... because the manufacturers site wasn't working
