List of warranty removal if u remove fan from gpu

popular topic this lately

msi will take it case by case if you put a water block on

as long as they decide you didnt damage the card fitting the block the warranty should be ok

theres a link to the msi rep saying this in one of my posts during the last week as some one disputed this

cant speak for other manufacturers though evga do their own sort of water cooler for gpus so they might also be ok

lol some one else disputing it

some companies are now water cooling/mod friendly

their legal bumf remains the same as it always was

but some companies will take a case by case basis

just cant find my post with the msi rep linked in it at the moment

swiftech also gave me permission to dis assemble my pump without voiding the warranty

found one from msi rep

Technically speaking, we, as a company, can decide to void the warranty if you do any modifications to the card (that is why we state it on our policy). However, as long as you aren't a n00b and your aftermarket water-cooler (or any user modification) is not the root cause of the problem and you install everything back to the way it was originally if you do need an RMA, you will be okay.

I don't mean the modding, I mean if u just take off the fan to reapply thermal paste.

taking off the heatsink to apply thermal paste should be treated in the same way--ie as long as you didnt cause damage doing it
