Lmb not working in certain games. This is on multiple mice.

Basically when I launch certain games (such as Shadow of Mordor, Rocket League or Ace of Spades) the left mouse button doesn't register when I click. This could be in the menu or in the game itself. The right mouse button works just fine. I also know it's not the mouse as plugging in a spare mouse yields the same problem.
What is happening and how do I fix it?

remap game controls to defaults in game control screen ?

remove any extra mouse software you have (some gaming mice come with software suites. if removing the suite allows the 'spare mouse' to work then look at how you reset to defaults in the mouse software).
