I'm looking to create a small battery powered Linux device, and I'd like it to have a small (640x480) screen. Using either a standard laptop battery or usb would be ideal to power the screen. This is the first time I've ever tinkered around with something like this so I have no idea where to start. Any help would be appreciated,

-Mike

Literally the first result when googling USB monitor. -they are not uncommon.

That's not quite what I meant. I'm basically looking to build a handheld console just as a pet project. I think I might have luck with the razzberry pi lcds, but if there is a cheaper way that would be great. https://www.adafruit.com/category/63
