my location is not being detected for some reason. Some of the sites i use need to track my location but they can't detect it for some reason. I have another windows PC and a mac which neither have this problem. I'm not sure why my new PC is having issues with location detection.

I've tried google chrome and Microsoft edge, both are having the same problems.

Anyone have any ideas how to resolve this?

Since you don't know what these websites use to determine your location, it is difficult to help.
A guess, is IP address. You could try disabling IPv6 on your PC, to force IPv4. That is one thing that can vary between PCs.

In the Windows Settings panel, have you turned on Settings > Privacy & security > Location > Location Services? As well as 'Let apps access your location'?

will this affect performance? is it bad to do this? it's now working on Microsoft Edge but i'm still having trouble with my location not being detected on google chrome. i've looked thru google chrome settings and i don't think anything is disabled preventing it.

to be specific, fanduel and draftkings are two sites that require your location and it's not working on chrome for some reason. started working with edge once i disabled IPv6

No. disabling IPv6 does not hurt performance. It can fix odd networking problems, because, even though IPv6 has been a standard for a long time, it still has less traffic than IPv4. So ISPs don't pay as much attention to glitches in IPv6.
You can open a cmd.exe window on a "good" host and a "bad" host. Run the ipconfig.exe /all command. Compare the results. If they are similar, then this is probably not the problem.
