how do you get around the password needed in Content Advisor? It's become
enabled with noone having done it....
Where would the registry key for that be, so the current could be removed
and a known word be substituted in it's place?

Contact the person who set the password.
Windows XP did not set one by itself.
Usually a responsible parent sets one.
Ask Mom or Dad.
