the laptop keeps getting stuck at the XP start up for XP home edition w? SP2.
I have tried a number of things, but no luck. Can I run the system restore
disk to fix the problem, or will this format the drive and I would lose
everything? is there a way I can grabe my files if i can not get the system
to start? is there any suggestions so i can get this going?

When did this start? Did you add or delete anything to cause this
behaviour?

Please tell us what you've tried.

It depends on what your computer manufacturer gave you to do a "Repair
Install." You wouldn't lose your data, but you would probably have to
do all the MS updates again.

Post back or follow the cumulative advise from others in this thread.
