Question Logitech G Hub Sidetone

Why doesn't side tone work when the app is closed? I'm using the Logitech Pro headset with the leather ear-cups, also using a Blue Yeti as my game microphone. I also have the default mic plugged in on the headset because I want to be able to hear my own voice but sidetone only works when the app is open to the headset settings. 2 questions: Is it possible for the sidetone without the app always open? Is it possible to get sidetone from the Blue Yeti and not the default mic?
