Motherboard: M4A88TDV-V EVO/USB3

Cpu: AMD Phenom II X6 1090t

Power Supply: XION 800w

GPU: EVGA 1050 ti

thank you

Your motherboard doesn't support anything faster nor would fastest AM3+ CPU's be much faster than you current. You should upgrade the CPU, motherbord, and RAM to ryzen. I'm in the same boat but im looking at the Ryzen 5 1600 6 core. At your price tho the 1200 should due as its on par with the newer i5 locked versions. https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/M4A88TDV_EVOUSB3/HelpDesk_CPU/

Solution

ok thanks im just gonna save up

should i consider just changing my cpu to the newest one on the link u gave me?

yea i have a good heat sink but how do i overclock it and what temp should i undo the overclocking

Just up the multiplier to equal 3.5Ghz and see how it does. AMD sets the voltage a bit high so you may not need to change it at all. Here is a guild on overclock if you need. Also know how to reset bios before as if you overclock to much the system may not start. My CPU only need 1.275v to hit 3.7Ghz if you need to fine tune a bit.
http://www.overclockers.com/step-guide-overclock-amd-phenom/

To overclock your cpu you will need to go into your bios and set your cpu's clock up to .1 and then enter windows and stress test using prime95/AIDA64 and if your cpu fails that stress test then your voltage isnt high enough, so re enter your bios and set up your voltage a tiny bit ( the voltage should never exceed past 1.4/1.5v for the safety of your CPU) if the stress test passes then go back to your bios and set the clock speed up by another .1 and repeat he rest of the steps (Anything past 80c is not recommended )

ok anyway i can contact you im not at my computer atm i dont really want to mess this up

when i try to overclock my cpu ratio and everything else its stuck on auto i have the cpu overclock to manual and i dont see AI Overclocking

Edit: wait nevermind that doesnt show how to overclock using bios

lol any ideas i want to try to overclock it at 4 ghz or 3.9 and do i have to do it in bios?

because if i can overclock without bios i think it will be easier

The thing in the post is just for testing how far your chip can go before being unstable, you would still need to do it in the bios after, I dont know how to unlock the cpu ratio.

okay so how do i overclock it to 4 ghz

that .1 stuff i dont get
i can tell u what i see in my bios
on ai tweaker tab

You shouldn't go to 4Ghz for 24/7 as it not the fastest alone. Tests were run that show thuban to run fastest with 12X NB. To run at 12x NB takes higher nb voltage which causes a great increase in heat. With 10X nb at 4Ghz your starving the CPU for memory bandwidth. In the anandtech test it shows at 4Ghz the performance is no longer increasing at the same rate with higher NB ratio. Look at starcraft for example. 3.2Ghz with NB 12x is about as many FPS as 4Ghz with only 10x NB. You should really try first 3.7~3.8Ghz with 12x NB.
https://www.anandtech.com/show/3877/asrock-890fx-deluxe-full-review-and-an-investigation-of-thuban-performance-scaling/7

For CPU voltage at 3.7Ghz 1.275 with NB 12x 1.25 while under 55c prime95 for 10 minutes. If that works at say less than 50c when up it 3.8Ghz and retest. Be sure to turn off turbo and cool and quiet.

okay i have no idea what u just said but thanks? lol im new to overclocking never done it b4

is it possible if i tell u what i see in the overclocking section and u tell me what do to? im trying to aim for 3.9 ghz because thats what i see alot on youtube lol

If you have a device that can capture photos then please do so, he said that you would want to reach the 3.7-3.8 zone otherwise you wont gain any performance if you were to go further.

Sure. Do this first to change to manual.
