Hello So i want to upgrade my CPU to something that will go well with my GPU I want to play PUBG
at 60 fps Right now i get 50-45 Sometimes 60 but i want a constant 60 fps i don't want to upgrade my GPU since i just did that i have seen videos on youtube on pubg with my graphics card so i want to upgrade my cpu to something more modern here are my specs

Motherboard: M4A88TDV-V EVO/USB3

Cpu: AMD Phenom II X6 1090t

Power Supply: XION 800w

GPU: EVGA 1050 ti

thank you

Your motherboard doesn't support anything faster nor would fastest AM3+ CPU's be much faster than you current. You should upgrade the CPU, motherbord, and RAM to ryzen. I'm in the same boat but im looking at the Ryzen 5 1600 6 core. At your price tho the 1200 should due as its on par with the newer i5 locked versions. https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/M4A88TDV_EVOUSB3/HelpDesk_CPU/

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: AMD - Ryzen 3 1200 3.1GHz Quad-Core Processor ($109.88 @ OutletPC)
Motherboard: Asus - STRIX B350-F GAMING ATX AM4 Motherboard ($86.98 @ Newegg)
Memory: G.Skill - Ripjaws V Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR4-2800 Memory ($78.99 @ Newegg)...
For CPU ratio change it from auto to 18.5 and AMD turbo core disable. Scroll down to cpu voltage and see what its set to. If its more than 1.275 at auto just let it be for testing. Note im not talking about CPU/NB frequency as that is the speed of NB you may later want set to 12 or 2400.

Unfortuantly I cant find your motherboards second half but this should be kind of the same. Once scrolled down you should be CPU voltage and CPU/NB voltage.

Find cool and Quite and disable it as well or your CPU will downclock making overclock a crap shot.

wow thanks you're the best is that it?

i just copy the values on the screenshots?

No those values are for a phenom where you have a thuban. You should change CPU ratio to 18.5 and CPU voltage try 1.275. Leave everything else just to see if the CPU can run 3.7~3.8Ghz's first. If a 10 minutes prime95 run works with those stable then go for the 12x 2400 CPU/NB frequancy and CPU/NB voltage of 1.25. Thuban requires less voltage than phenom. Dont change DRAM voltage as that is for memory overclocking.

i have a phenom

i have a AMD Phenom II X6 1090t

Just know how to reset the bios in case the overclock fails. The easy way is unplug from the wall and remove the motherboard battery for 5 minutes. Also make sure you have prime95 and hwmonitor ready to test. Use prime95 for 10 minutes and watch the temps in hwmonitor. Dont let temps go beyond 60c. If it does stop prime95 and try reducing cpu voltage a bit to 1.265 for example and test again. If you get errors and heat is ok you may need a touch more cpu voltage 1.285.

ok so if u can give me all the ratios and stuff in an order and witch stress should i do should i do the one it checked?

i prob should have ask this but i play pubg witch is a cpu based game even tho u need a decent gpu witch i have a decent gpu but not cpu will this overclock help?

You will see a slight but not extremely major increase in FPS, I would say its worth it. if your having FPS issues after overclocking you can try to use the "How to increase FPS in PUBG" guides that show you what you can do In the games files to significantly increase FPS.

ok so what do i put i the bios just make them in a line like this

CPU Ratio:
blah:
blah:
like that lol

When you increase your CPU's ratio by .1 save your settings in the bios and startup and open PRIME95 and run the " small FFT" test for 10 minutes to quickly test stability and temperatures. It's recommended that you test for longer times once your overclock is done.

i was talking to
elbert because i dont understand .1 and stuff hes just gonna tell me the exact clock settings

because i know nothing about overclocking

oh
1. Increase "CPU Ratio" by .1 in BIOS
2. Save and Boot from the BIOS
3. Once computer starts up, Open up prime 95 if you dont have it already download v26.6 here for more realistic temps https://overclocking.guide/download/prime-95-v26-6-64-bit/

4. Wait 10-15 minutes, come back and if your CPU hasnt reached 80c and your PC hasnt crashed repeat process from number one.

If you raise the ratio by 1 your target CPU frequancy should adjust to 3400MHz. That is how you can be sure your changing it correctly. A half like a .5 increase should raise target cpu frequancy to 3300. Also change 80c to 60c. Thuban is old and cant handle that higher temps. I think max working or safe temp is 62c.
1090T CPU

okay elbert can u tell me what stuff should the ratios be like this

CPU Ratio:
Blah
blah
blah
like that and ill do it then ill stress test it

like
1.
2.
3.
4.
5.

On some motherboards you select the CPU Ration and press the + or - keys. Others the up arrow or down arrow. Play around to figure out how to change them.

1. CPU Ratio = 18.5 or 3700Mhz
2. CPU/NB = 12x or 2400Mhz
3. Turbo - disabled
4. CPU voltage = 1.275
5. CPU/NB voltage = 1.2
6. cool 'n' quite = disabled

ok im doing it if anything goes wrong im just going to remove the com battery

is there anyway i can talk to you lol

i have discord
