Looking for a CPU around $70 - $100 used or new

Hello! I'm trying to put together a budget build for a friend and wanted to know a good processor i could get (used off ebay or new doesn't matter) for around $70 - $100 range.

I plan on adding a 970 to the build and didn't want it to bottleneck so i'm really not sure what processor would be best with it.

I saw a few I5 3570's going for around $70 but wasn't sure how that would do with gaming.

What kind of budget are you factoring in for a motherboard? Looking to the used market for a CPU is one thing (and something like a SandyBridge i7 is a great option on a budget....CPU alone anyway), finding a compatible motherboard for a decent price is where the problems arise.

Considering you're looking at <$100 for a CPU alone, I'd suggest looking to a modern Ryzen3.
