Hey, doing a computer build and wanted to get a faster processor. There will not be a graphics card going into the system, as this system is going to be used for web browsing and using some business applications. Any recommendations? I was thinking of the i3 4130.

Another option was the FX 6300, but that did not have a in built GPU.

Also the i3 3220 is a good CPU from them Ivy bridge architecture... but would be better paired with a Dedicated GPU since it only uses HD 2500 graphics. But the i3 3245 is a better choice as the price is almost the same but it is clocked slightly higher and the CPU uses HD 4000 graphics. These are good if you want something a bit cheaper. The i3 4130 and i3 4330 are great CPU's for everyday use as their Single -threaded performance is very fast as well as 4 logical cores will be good for multitasking...if your looking for an AMD CPU the A-10 7850k has the best iGPU on the consumer market right now it is a bit more expensive but there are A-8 APU processors that are cheaper and have decent iGPU performance......................Sorry I meant the A-10 richland APU's and not kaveri

I did not bother looking at the older ones, because I wanted this computer to last longer. If I wanted to save some money, I might. And I do agree, the 3220 is good, it was actually an option.

If you want a CPU for $125 range that can supply good on-board integrated graphics, I'd recommend actually going with AMD on this one.

AMD A10-5800K is a APU - which is a CPU and a GPU combined. This has a really good on-board GPU opposed to anything released by intel.

But - you'll need a Socket FM2+ motherboard for this, so if you don't have money for that I can recommend a Intel CPU for your motherboard socket

It's a bit more pricey, but the Intel HD 4600 is a pretty decent on-board GPU and it caches 256MB of your RAM, and it can be used for light gaming and most definitely web browsing. With the LGA1150 socket (same with the 4130 you were considering) you can upgrade to an i5-4670 or even a i7-4770 in the future seeing as they share the same socket.

I'd recommend going with Haswell for any Intel CPU - they're reliable and are really power efficient, they tend to run a bit hotter though so I'd recommend you get a aftermarket CPU cooler even if you're not overclocking - but seeing as you're just going to web surf I guess you won't have much of a problem with overheating.

Yeah, the A10s are awesome, a little overkill for what I have planned. At the price of the 4330, it would better to buy an i5. I picked the 4130 because it was cheap, but still was decent for a little web surfing/business related stuff. I think the 4130 with an SSD will be really fast.

Tom's Hardware recently reviewed the i3-4130 as the budget gamers pick http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-cpu-review-overclock,3106-3.html Here is the official Intel specifications http://ark.intel.com/products/77480/Intel-Core-i3-4130-Processor-3M-Cache-3_40-GHz and here it is for sale at Newegg for $124.99 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116946 with plenty of reviews to read for information.

If I had a motherboard with the LGA 1150 socket this is definitely the processor I would start with.
