Hello, I am looking for a gaming PC with an Intel processor (preferably 12th gen) and good Nvidia graphics card between £1500-2000 if possible. So far the best deal I have seen is this one from HP https://www.hp.com/gb-en/shop/product.aspx?id=59A36EA&opt=ABU&sel=DTP

With student discount the price of this PC is £1799.
Is the HP Omen a good gaming PC and is this a good price or does anyone know any better deals/ suggestions.
Thank you.

Two red flags I see is no mention on that link of make & model of power supply and motherboard. You'd be better off building it yourself or ordering the parts and taking them to a local PC / laptop repair shop and having them build it for you for a small fee.

This gives you 32GB of RAM, a board with better audio codec, a better case and a reputable psu.

Thank you so much for this but as I mentioned before I dont have much time so I really need a solid prebuild, just trying to get advice on where to get the best deal for an Intel Nvidia prebuild, I understand I might not be able to choose all the components like I would if I built it myself.

Is a 12600K an option rather than the 12700?

If so, is it air cooled rather than liquid?

At a minimum......

I would look at other UK computer dealer websites for gaming PCs other than HP Omen.

Lenovo? Asus?

Not sure what sites are available in UK.

Above is the only one I know of, surely there are others.

How quickly must you buy?

I have looked at both pcspecialist.co.uk and overclockers.co.uk as well as others but the HP Omen was the cheapest build I could find for the primary specs (Intel i7 12700K, Nvidia 3070 Ti, 2TB SSD). Also using my, student discount I am able to get a price of £1799 whereas other sites for a similar build I have seen are over £2000.

I've heard good things about this outfit.

Have you simply looked for an upper level PC......rather than a "gaming" PC?

PCs marketed as "gaming" may be inferior to a standard powerful PC for your purposes.

Standard powerful PCs would likely open you up to many more possibilities and configuration options.

I would NOT get bogged down in the word "gaming".

Lenovo is a very good suggestion, would you recommend them over HP?
I have checked their site too but I can't see any deals. A similar build I saw on their website was this one https://www.lenovo.com/gb/en/deskto...ers/Legion-Tower-7i-Gen-7-Intel/p/LEN102G0003
It would cost a bit extra than the HP but I think they have 10% student discount so I might be able to get the price down. Also they use a 12700KF processor instead of the 12700K. Would that make much difference? Thanks.

Sorry I think it was because I was using the education site. This link should work https://www.lenovo.com/gb/en/deskto...wers/Legion-Tower-7i-Gen-7-Intel/p/90S2005CUK

Not much to evaluate.

Are you OK with that price?

Do you have any reason to choose this rather than the HP Omen?

No brand names other than CPU and Nvidia graphics.

Is that the GPU you specifically want?

Is that configuration customizable at all??

CPU cooler?

I guess you have no choice on the case.

It's no doubt tolerable if it is not DOA. Whether you will have regrets is pretty much unknowable. You are boxed in to some extent because you require pre-built which means you will have to compromise and cannot get exactly what you want.

Flip a coin? Return privileges and customer service headaches may come into play. I don't know how you can evaluate that.

The HP Omen is £1799 and the Lenovo Legion I linked is £1900 so I'm not sure if it is worth the extra £100 for the Legion. I'm quite new to PC gaming so I cant really tell if the Lenovo Legion has the better components than the HP Omen, they both seem so similar.
