Hello, I am looking for a gaming PC with an Intel processor (preferably 12th gen) and good Nvidia graphics card between £1500-2000 if possible. So far the best deal I have seen is this one from HP https://www.hp.com/gb-en/shop/product.aspx?id=59A36EA&opt=ABU&sel=DTP

With student discount the price of this PC is £1799.
Is the HP Omen a good gaming PC and is this a good price or does anyone know any better deals/ suggestions.
Thank you.

What games do you want to play and at what settings?

I don't know if you require that GPU for your personal gaming needs.

Maybe someone else can comment.

I would personally try to avoid liquid cooling, which is apparently on all models of the HP Omen.

Cooling on the Lenovo 12700kf is totally unknown. Could be anything. Intel does not include a cooler, so you are left with whatever Lenovo has decided to include....good, average, or bad. Maybe you can dig into specs or Google and get more detail. Maybe you are indifferent.

Hello, could anyone recommend a good build from a good PC gaming site in the UK like PCSpecialist, Overclockers, CyberPower, awdIT, ebuyer, scan.

I'm looking for an Intel (preferably 12th gen) and Nvidia graphics card.

Thank you.

Not sure of you can find this as a prebuilt at this price. Better to build yourself...

Have you rejected the possible choices in your long thread from yesterday?
I think the problem with builds I linked yesterday is that people are saying Lenovo and HP use cheap components so the Omen and Legion builds are not very futureproof so I just started a new thread to see if anyone could help me with a similar build/price from another site like the ones I mentioned above.

I can understand that.

It's not so much that they use cheap components.

It's more that certain components are either unknown, proprietary, or unchangeable (you can't change to a better alternative).

You can't find out as much as you'd like to know about them and you may have difficulties replacing them if they fail because they are not industry standard.

That's just the way large OEMs like Lenovo and HP operate.

There are certain smaller builders that will allow you to choose from lists of industry standard upper quality parts and assemble them for you. Thus you have a lot more control.

Puget Systems is one such outfit in the USA. There may or may not be similar sources in the UK. If not, you will have to compromise more than you'd like and take a leap of faith with a major OEM.....regardless of where you actually choose to buy it.

I'd guess it can be done in the UK, but I have no idea where. Maybe more eyeballs on this thread will lead you to a source.

I really don't have time to build one myself. Would you recommend this build from Currys? https://www.currys.co.uk/products/p...intel-core-i7-rtx-3080-1-tb-ssd-10236852.html

I think I might go for one of the ones from Currys as they offer PCSpecialist PCs like the one above and provide a great buy now pay later finance deal. However, Im going to look for a 3070 or 3060Ti as I will most like be gaming on a 1080p monitor so the 3080 will probably be overkill.

The 3070 version of this model is £100 less so I guess it would be more worth to keep the 3080 model.

Would you recommend any of these two builds that I have found on scan. I think they are both similar but one has the 3070rtx and the other has the 3080 for around 300 extra.

There is also this build I found buy ebuyer which looks like a good deal but it uses a 3060Ti, which I'm not sure if this card is futureproof.

None of these options tell us what motherboard or power supply is used, so pretty meaningless really.

If you could find that out, people might be able to offer a useful opinion. But until then, pointless commenting.

I don't think the link works but the specs I chose for the build were these, I didn't select a cooler though because I didn't know which to choose.

CiT Crossfire Gaming ARGB PC Case
Gigabyte Z690 GAMING X DDR4
INTEL i7-12700K CPU
32GB Corsair Vengeance LPX 3000MHz (2x16GB) Memory
Corsair RM850x 80+ Gold Modular Power Supply
Nvidia RTX 3070 Graphics Card [2FAN/SMALL]
1TB Samsung 970 EVO PLUS M.2 NVME SSD
No Hard Drive
I got a total price of
Subtotal
£1,659.95 which seems oddly low so I don't know if I did something wrong or there's something I'm missing with the build.

can you access this link?

Hahaha no I just selected one randomly I dont actually understand which is better.

20 or 30 cooler choices.

Only 1 air unless I misread: Cooler Master Hyper 212.

The 212 would work although it wouldn't be my choice if I was building it.

Neither would any of those liquid coolers be my choice.

Liquid coolers have their own "nuances" compared to air.

Most here will tell you to pick one of those liquid coolers. I'll step aside.

Other than that, it looks pretty good.

I am travelling, and I am not able to figure out the complete specs. of the product on my phone. If you can list the specs. I might be able to help you.

Edit: Ok, I just checked the specifications, and it didnt look too good. Locked CPU, cheap board, unknown cooler, memory latency missing, PSU missing to name a few. Compared to the build I listed, you will be paying a lot of premium with that build.
